What does Sleep Dealer have to say about the rural life versus urban life?
well, i do think " Sleep Dealer is obviously influenced by The Matrix(among other films)" actually means that because of the way they connect between the machines and the human bodies.in both movies,the machines and the human bodies are connected through the ports that were made by human.they don't ever connect between human bodies and the machines through the holes that we have originally from birth such as noses,ears,mouths and so on.in the Matrix,they are going to future to fight for their freedom against machines.But in Sleep Dealer,no one is going to the future and fighting for something.they are just staying in the time they currently are. they are just staying in Mexico and work by controlling the machines in Mexico and they appear as robot workers in the New York City.
i think that the race is a big role in this movie. what i mean is that i'm sure that New York City has a lot of workers and why do they still need people form Mexico to work for New York City.i think the reason is that people in the New York city became expensive workers compared to the workers from Mexico.let's say you have to pay at least $ 7 per hour to work in the New York City. you will just need to pay $ 3 or less than that to the workers from Mexico and they will be happy with that.to get them in New York to work, you will have to give them visas and will need more housing and facilities and will be more expensive than they work in Mexico.by controlling robot workers from Mexico,they can save all those money and it can run 24 hours if some workers are willing to do. it doesn't necessarily need to be Mexico.it could be any country from anywhere around the world.Urban life means that the lives of the people who are working or living or both.the urban areas usually are the big cities with high populations and high standard of living. rural life means that the lives of the people who are living in the rural areas which usually are small towns or villages.it's really hard to get good money by staying and working in the rural areas.so,people form rural areas usually come to the urban areas to work,get more money than they can get in the rural areas and support their families back home. i think it was a good film by letting us know about the hard lives of the people from rural areas and make us think about ourselves in the urban areas.

well, as for me The ExistenZ could be more realistic than the matrix movie even they both are saying that we can go to the future. as the way the matrix is, you can go to the future and you can't go back to your current time that you live right now. But the Existenz says that you can go to the future and you can come back to the time that you live in and anyone who were installed bio port can play the game. but in the matrix, most of the people are just regular people and there are just two groups who are playing the game, the morphrius's group and the other one. So, i think it's not too realistic. what i think is if it is happen, it should happen to everyone. it's shouldn't just happen to two groups of people. and one more thing, if they can invent to go to the future , they should have done inventing to go to the past at least to the time we live in right now. there are many ways that ExistenZ makes more sense to me compared to the matrix. first, ExistenZ says anyone who installed the bio port can play the game, go to the future and come back. you don't need to be the chosen ones to do so.
in the movie ExistenZ,it's still you whether you are going to the future.you don't reborn or something like that.But in the matrix,you go to the future whith no way back and you are going to be reborn in order to be in the future.so,what i mean right here is you need people to support you to learn their way of doing stuffs and living in the matrix. But in the ExistenZ, you just get into the future with no one's help in the future.you don't need anyone to install the material arts or something to your memory.i think that's the beauty of it.One more thing,i see that someone must ring the telephone to call the guys in the future back to their base.i think that it shouldn't be that way. i really do think that it should be just you who control yourself.if you compare time of the matrix and the ExistenZ, the matrix's future could be later than the time that ExistenZ's future. i have that idea by the way they dress,the buildings and the use of the weapons.the things they use in the movie, ExistenZ does look old fashion compared to the matrix's latest weapons.

well,, i think in the book, she meant that the matrix used lots of modern stuffs like special effects and so on , eXistenZ is the better movie because of the use of gore and stuffs.. she is kind of stereotyping,,, i think. she should look for the other stuffs too..like the theme of the story. they are pretty much the same. they both go to the future.

matrix essay

I believe that the world we live in is not matrix because the people we have today are all given birth by human parents. None of us were given birth by something called pink goo which is hanging in the air, filled with fluid and be able to control by computer systems. But we have something like a glass tube that can give birth to human just like a human mother can do. You just need to use scientific methods to combine the sperms aka DNAs from the parents. If they have that technology growing bigger and better, our world will be matrix in the future because science and computers will control the humans even before the birth. If there is matrix exists, I’m sure that people in the future will have no religion. Because almost all the religions said god created human except Buddha as far as I know. Buddha didn’t answer that question. As for me, I’m a Buddhist person and most of the people says that religion blinds you. But I don’t think it’s true because I didn’t ever feel anything blinds me. I’ m still willing to see and learn about other religions. If the matrix does exist, there are no gods and no religions. In religious way, I believe that Buddha exists. So, the matrix doesn’t exist to me. In Matrix, Neo believed that everything he believed was not real. There is a real great quote from Nixon that “Can we really make sense of the idea of a person who has beliefs but these beliefs are all or almost all false? If the answer is no, then ultimately we will not be able to make sense of stories like The Matrix (or at least my version with increased maliciousness from the computers) that involve people whose beliefs are almost all false”(37). You can’t seriously tell me that you believe in a person who said that almost everything he believes is wrong.
I have one more serious question. Does human created computer system or computers created everything we have today including ourselves. In Matrix, nothing is real that you believe right now. So, does u believe that sun, moon, earth and the universe exists? I think all of us believe all of them exist in religious way, scientific way or anyway you can think of. I don’t think the human being, sun, moon, earth and universe are not programmable. If you believe the matrix exists, please tell me who programmed the universe.
One last thing, let’s say one your great grandparents died last year and you were there. You saw that he/she was dead. If you believe in matrix, what you saw and believed was wrong. Are you going to tell me that one of great grandparents didn’t really die? You saw it and you felt it. So, what I mean is matrix doesn’t exist in our world.

Media Mid-Term:

“How does the media affect on the children and violence in the United States”

The effect of the media on the kids became a major problem in the United States. In United States, kids are spending most of the time in front of TV. Most of them watch television programs and the others are playing games. Well, the media shouldn’t actually effect on the children that much as it is now. We have parental control on the television programs, ratings on the movies and video games. But, we don’t actually take any of them seriously. Most of the parents are busy with their work every day. They don’t really have time to think of controlling the television programs and video games that their children are playing and watching every day. That’s reason why it became the major problem in the United Sates. Video games are actually restricted because they ask you for the ID when you go to buy R-rated video games in the stores. So, how do you think the children get access to play those games? I am sure that parents buy them for their children. Most of the parents don’t check the ratings when they buy games for their children. They just want their children to spend their time as the way they like when the parents are out for work. They don’t seriously think that the video games can affect their children’s mind and life style.

There is one more important thing I want to talk about. That is about computers and internet affect on the children.

Sunrise: The song of two humans
I’m sure that this film is a model for all the films we have today. Even thou it is a silent film, it has all the lighting effects, camera techniques and special effects that shows what the director’s point about the movie and makes you understand more about the movie. In this essay, I will show that how the director makes husband possess and good by using the camera shooting techniques such as high, low, medium angles and the special effects.
The husband in this movie became good sometimes and possesses sometimes between his good wife and the evil, the lady from the city. In the first part of the movie, the husband was just drunk and didn’t shave and looks broke, depressed with his wife and it was at night. It means evil and you can see 2 ladies who like the same guy. One is his wife who almost dresses up white, simple and all the body parts are covered with her cloth. And the other one is the girl form the city that wears black dresses and skirt, which are fashionable almost all the time. It actually means about the color as white is good and black is evil as we have black list and non- black list which is white. And you can see the way those two ladies look. The wife looks grace and peaceful. But the woman from the city looks sexy, smoking and wears lots of makeup and lipstick compared to the wife. And you can see the lighting effect when the lady form the city makes the sound to get the guy out of the house. The lady from the city is out of the house in the dark and the guy is in the house filled with bright light. The darkness out of the house means the evil as it does mean about the lady from the city and the light in the house means that the good as it does mean about the wife. And you can clearly see that we can see the lady from the city just at night. We don’t see her in day time. When the wife is done preparing for the dinner, the guy is gone. The wife knows that he went out to see the lady from the city and she could actually go and have a fight with them if she’s not peaceful and a good wife. But she feel sad and go to her child’s bed and crying and staying with her child when the guy is staying with the lady from the city in the yard. The guy seems so happy when he was with the lady from the city. But the lighting effect changes right away. The combination of the lightning in the scene makes the guy look very angry and evil right away when the lady from the city asked him to drown his wife. But the guy accepts what she said when the lady from the city kissed him and acted like she loves him a lot. You can see the guy seems broke and came back to home and stare at his wife who is sleeping. You can see that the director put the cross sign on her blanket and I think it means that she is a good person and god saves her.
The wife seems so happy in the morning when the husband asked her to go for a ride on the boat. She thought the husband is coming back to her. You can see that the director shows you that the dog knows what’s going to happen. It barks and barks and run to the boat. But the husband doesn’t want anything to see that he murder his own wife. So, he was very angry and put the dog back in the house. Since then he looked evil and aggressive. You can see the shot from high angle make the husband look evil and the wife powerless on the boat. He almost killed her on the boat but he stopped trying to kill his poor wife and did beg her when he became good again. But the wife afraid of him and ran away. She didn’t actually believe him until they get to the church and saw the wedding. You can see the special effect when they walked out of the church and walking down the street. You can see that the background of the city street changed to the park with trees and flowers. I think it mean that they are all ok and happy. And you can see the husband look different when he shaved his face in the hair cut place. And again, you will see a lady who works in the hair cut place with the black dress, evil is coming to the husband and tried to flirt with him when he was shaved. But the husband denied it at that time. After he shaved, he seems like he is a handsome, nice husband. He protected his wife from the guy in the hair cut place. And you can see that see that they looked so happy when they are taking picture, going to the restaurant and dancing together. Everyone is cheering for them. That was the most lovely sequence in the film.
And you can see another special effect in the shot that they are having the wine in the restaurant. You can see some cupids flying on their heads when they are hugging each other in the restaurant. And the waiter guy did ruin their moment by bringing the check and standing behind them. And the waiter guy looks at them and acted like he doesn’t think that they can pay for their bill. I think he underestimate them by the way they dress up. Well, to be honest, I think that place is a high class place for them to dine in. But they still could pay their bill finally. On the way back home, they look romantic together on the boat and also in the background, people are dancing happily .Again, the big evil, the storm comes at night. You can see that the way the wind and the water are. It looks scary when they are on a small boat and the big storm came with wind and water. When the storm first started, she is sleeping in the boat and didn’t wake up right away. I think she didn’t wake up because she was drunk. And then, she woke up, ran into her husband and hugs him so tight because she was scared to death. And the scary storm flipped their boat upside down, make flow them apart and water goes steady.
The husband woke up and looked for his wife who wasn’t there and he feel really depressing. So, he went to his village back and asks for the people to help him find his wife. And you can see that lots of villagers came out of their house and helped him find his wife compared to they talked behind the husband when he was with the lady from the city. You can see that even the old couple who is working in the lady from the city’s house came out to help him. The director’s message in this shot is people like the good person compared to the evil. The husband and the villagers are looking for his wife through the whole river. But it was dark at night and they can’t find her easily. They saw the plants that husband tied to his wife’s body spread around the river and he thought she’s dead. So, they went back to the village and the husband cried a lot on his wife’s bed. At that time, the lady from the city came to his house because she thinks that he did what she told him to do. And when he sees her he looks angry and evil again and tried to kill her. The low angle shot from the far about the husband and the lady from the city makes the husband scary and posses. He looked like a monster at that time and he choked her. But he let her go when the old lady came and told him that his wife is saved. And then he went to his wife and sat next to her bed and comforts her. And the evil lady went out of the village. And the final shot comes up with their romantic lovely kissing shot.
My conclusion about this movie is that nobody likes evil. Everybody loves good, kind and honest people. The good person might not win the game today, tomorrow but he or she will win the game in final. And it also effect in our real world. If you do good things, good things are going to be back to you and if you did bad things, bad things are going to be back to you. What you do is what you deserve in final. The lighting effects, the camera techniques that were in this film are all important and role model for the films that we have today.

sorry, i was thinking i wrote the blog 12 already but it was actually blog 11 which is the same report about research. i was researching about the Korean high school student murdered lots of students in the school because he played lots of shooting games and he became violence.i still need to find more reasons to prove that TV is not the only thing that makes the violence in the United States because i need to write 20 pages. i just need to find more reasons and evidences to prove my way of thinking.

in the class this morning, i wrote that TV is the most influential device that increase the crime rate in the United states. But in the lab, i did some researchs to prove why i think so and i found out that TV is not the only device that increase the crime rates. u can see that the use of computers and internet to see violent stuffs can also increase the crime rate as the same way as TVs do.because we have more computers than TVs these days and the numbers are still hugely increasing.Let's see in a family of 6 people, i'm sure that they don't have 6 TVs. they will probably have 3 Tvs maximum.But for compuetrs, they can have 4 or 5 computers in a family of 6. most of them could be laptops.computers are getting cheaper in these days and TVs are still expensive if you compare with computers. so, i change my goal to not only computers could increase the violent rate but also the compuers and internet.For the next class,i will do research to get more reasons and evidences to prove that what i think is right.

the trip to the museum was great... there were some stuffs which are really cool... such as Voice Recording room that you can record your own voice to the movie clips that they have.That was really cool,funny and all of my classmates liked it.The other one i liked was making the short video clips by using the camera they have there and review it. It was really funny and all of us spent around 30 minutes there to do our own movie clips. i would definitely go back there just to record my voice over the movie clips and to make the short video clips...

well....the first time i was in class i thought it was going to be boring.But in the second week of the class, i felt like was into what we are doing in class.it's a cool thing to do almost everything on web such as blogs, researches,assignments and homeworks.it's saving your time a lot especially on homework because you can finish your home work on the due date and post it before the time it is due compare to manual way of doing homework by writing on the paper and hand it to the professor in the class time of the due date.

Blog- 5 , semester plan

well, i'm a guy who work 25 to 30 hours a week and going to school full time. i come to school Monday through Thrusday and work . So, it's hard for me to finish the homeworks on time and i always late for the homework and also the class in the morning because i work at night.when i register for this course, i was looking for the classes which start at 11:30 and after because i don't want to be late for the class.But there were no classes avaliable to register at that time . so, i chose this course . i love this course though expect the time the classes starts. i will try my best to be in the class on time and get the homework done by the due dates for the rest of the semseter.

The meaning of the truman sydrome means being trapped on the reality TV shows without knowing that they are on TV and pople can see every thing what a peson do everyday through the cameras(www.wisegeek.com).It is realy crazy to let people see whatever we do everyday and it's also our human right which we can keep our own privacy.i will feel really bad to be on TV like that. i believe most of the reality TV shows today are following the script instead of being reality. i think they write the script to make people interesting which is not real. i got the informations through the researches on the internet and the book " the matrix and the philosophy".i do take the informations from the internet but i don't think they are 100% trustworthy because all those sites are made of different kind of people with different opinion.so, you will get different information for whatever you are looking for.For example," wikipedia.org " which is the largest site for the students who are looking for the information is not trustworthy too because anyone can change any information at anytime.whenever i do the research i look it up on the Wiki but i still look for the information on the other sites and i try to match the information from both of the sites.Even that it won't be 100% trustworthy.

i would choose the red pill because i believe in science. i think the world with machines is going to be an interesting place to live in.we can exploer the new world of science. i'm sure it's going to be totally different world from our so called technology world today. there is going to be the bad thing if we can't control the machines' abalities as we do today.we can make any machine to be our best but we need to know how to shut them down if anything happen.

Well, I think sexuality and the gender is not that important in the matrix because you will see the lady named Trinity who’s a member of Morpheus’ group. She has the ability of what the other member could do expect the chosen one, Neo. All they do is simply install the programs right away for whatever they need. Also the race is not important. it can’t make you any better whatever race you are . I know there are still some redneck people who races the other people but it’s doesn’t have any profit of being white. Let’s say there is a race between a 90years old white man and 20 years old black man. Who do you is going to win?? Of course black man wins because god didn’t give any special ability to those white people. We all are the same. Well, Neo is white in the Matrix but his character doesn’t necessarily need to be white. He could be Black, Asian, Spanish or anyone in the world. I would live in the matrix because you could be anyone and see things differently than the way we see things now. Even today, almost all of us are cybrog because we are addicted to our daily stuff and most of them are related to machine directly or indirectly. Let’s say you have the relationship with the machine even before you wake up every day. The alarm which is a machine that wakes you up every day and before you go to school, you have to check the weather on the computers or cell phones or TV and all of them are machine. You have to take a bus or a train which are all made of machine to go to school or work. When you get to school, professors teach you with computers and projectors in almost every class. You go back home by taking the bus or train and after that you watch the TV or game for fun. After that you do homework or do research on the computer and you set the alarm before you go to sleep. You can see we are totally relying on the machine these days. Humans and machines are not the same though because machines are weaker in some point and humans are weaker in the others. Humans are the only kind of animal that can make machines and that’s why we are above other animals. But Machines are faster and do almost non mistakes because they were programmed since they were built. Humans are the builders of machines but we can do mistakes because we were not programmed by anyone. I don’t think we are not living in the matrix now but may be in next 50 years. At that time, we may be able to program humans also as I believe. I don’t really have any idea of what the characters’ names and nicknames mean but one thing I think that they are not the same have the names we have today. Those names are may be the names of the machines.

Blog- 3, Essay 2( Truman show)

Truman is a guy who has nothing to fear because his life has been set up even before he was born just like us. But we have no one who knows what is going to happen in our lives and Truman does because we live in the different worlds. The place we live in is full with tricks, dishonesty and you never know what’s coming after. In the world of Truman, he also lives in a place of dishonesty and tricks but it’s actually happen just to him. Everyone in that place knows what they are doing expect Truman. He couldn’t see their dishonesty too early because he has been living with this since he was born.

Truman’s life is actually different from the reality TV shows like The Bachelor and Survivor because the live broadcasting of Truman’s life is on air for 24/7 and the Reality TV shows are more like a set up. They just call it reality and they are shooting the videos with the script.
Even Chris stof said Truman can leave the seahaen anytime, he actually doesn't want Truman to leave. He still wanna control Truman's life as God. The way Chris treat Truman is similiar to go cotrol the god, i would say. Because he control Truman's life, and he can even control the weather such as making a strom, rising the sun at the day time.i think Chris should set Truman free because he made lots of money out of Truman show for over 20 years already. i think Truman should deserve to feel the the real world. If i'm in Truman's place i won't ever live in the place like seahaven because i love freedom and freedom is what everyone wants.i would live in the real world for 10 years instead of living in the seahaven for 20 years.i think Truman would expect to see the world with people who are not faking what they are doing and nobody watching him which is of course the freedom.

Socrates said you can’t know the reality if you are placed to be in somewhere that you can’t even see the sun light since your childhood. The shadow on the wall is just the reflection of the reality. Echo sound is not the reality. It’s just the reflection of the real sound. He said you won’t know what the reality is if you are blinded in the prison since you were young.The same way in the real world, if you are blinded by somthing like the community,culture,regilion and so on since you were young,you won't be able to see and feel anything out of the box.But if you are freed from the box or prison, you can see the reality of the world just like prisoers can see the sunlight.

Blog -1 : “ I’m a Cyborg”

The definition of the word “Cyborg” is the bionic human as they use in 1960s. But in these days, we can also use it as the people who are relying on the electronic devices for their daily life processes. Almost everyone in the 21st century are Cyborg because we all are relying on the electronic devices such as mobile phones, computers, internet, cars, TVs, radios, video games, trains, credit cards, metro cards, Mp3 players and so on. As for myself, I also am a Cyborg because I’m a human of the 21st century. I have to use electronic devices since I wake up in the morning. Since I wake up in the morning, I have to use computer or TV to check the weather of the day outside, and prepare to go to school or work. Since when I step outside of the house, I have to get the train or bus to go to the school. When I get to the school, all the classes are teaching with the projectors and if we have something to write we use computers to write and send them to the professors through the email or blogs. We use computers all the time in school to write anything expect the examination time because we will be able to cheat if we use computers in the exam. We have to use computers even to register for the school and classes. After we are leaving from school, we still can check our e-mails or anything we want through our mobile phones on the way home from anywhere expect in the train stations under the ground. And when we get home, we watch TVs or play video games for entertainment. After that, we can do home works on the computers and send them to the professors through internet. We can use internet to get information not only for school work or home work but also the information about anything in the universe. After homework, we can keep up with our friends on the internet through face book or other social websites. That’s how we spend a day in the 21st centuary.
I’m working in a restaurant as a waiter. In the place I work, the way we work is more electronically if you compare to most of the restaurants. We use PDA s to take the orders instead of using pen and paper. We use PDAs to take the orders and send them through the wireless network to the printer in the kitchen. And when we drop the checks , we print them out from the printer. It’s totally 100% electronic that we are doing there. Our lives are going to be in trouble if we don’t have any more electronic devices because we are so much in it and we don’t know how to do things without electronic devices.
